The Story Behind SLY

SLY was born from a simple belief: eating better outdoors, without compromise.
Recipes made to actually taste good, cooked in Quebec, and entirely plant-based. Nothing more, nothing less.

Our Mission

It's simple: create plant-based freeze-dried meals people genuinely want to eat.

SLY is for those who refuse to sacrifice taste, no matter where they are: on a mountaintop, deep in the woods, or stuck in a busy day.

We believe you should never have to choose between eating well and living fully—that pleasure, nutrition, and more responsible choices can go hand in hand, without compromise.

Something was missing

While preparing for his adventures, Sylvain sought meals that could keep up with his expeditions: lightweight, practical, nourishing — but above all, truly delicious.

He couldn't find them anywhere. So he created them.

SLY was born from a simple idea: you should never have to choose between taste and performance.

Founder of GUSTA and committed to plant-based eating for over 20 years, Sylvain brought together his experience in food product development, his standards as a foodie, and his outdoor lifestyle into SLY.

Our Approach

At SLY, plant-based cuisine is not a trend, it's our starting point. Every recipe is developed to be nutritionally complete, enjoyable to prepare outdoors, and delicious enough you'll want to eat it again.

100% plant-based, no exceptions

All our meals are entirely plant-based. Not to check a box, but because we believe you can create complete, satisfying, and flavour-packed meals without animal products.

Cooked first, then freeze-dried

We don't start with dry ingredients. Every recipe is fully cooked before being freeze-dried, helping preserve the flavour, texture, and integrity of the meal. What ends up in the pouch is a real meal.

Nutrition designed for performance

Meals designed to refuel after a long active day, with approximately 800 kcal per serving, complete plant-based proteins, and complex carbohydrates. It's long-lasting energy, not a spike followed by a crash.

SLY was born in the Laurentians, and it is still where our meals are made today. Staying close to our production means keeping control over quality, ingredients, and how things are done.
