The Story Behind SLY

SLY was born from a simple belief: eating better when dining out, without compromise.
Recipes designed for flavor, cooked here in Quebec, and entirely plant-based. Nothing more, nothing less.

Our Mission

It's simple: create plant-based freeze-dried meals that you actually want to eat.

SLY is for those who refuse to sacrifice taste, no matter where they are: on a mountaintop, deep in the woods, or stuck in a busy day.

We believe you should never have to choose between eating well and living fully—that pleasure, nutrition, and more responsible choices can go together, without compromise.

It all started with a lack.

As he prepared for his adventures, Sylvain sought meals that lived up to his expeditions: light, practical, nutritious — but most importantly, delicious.

He couldn't find them on the market. So he created them.

SLY was born from this simple idea: that you should never have to choose between taste and performance.

Founder of GUSTA and committed to plant-based food for over 20 years, Sylvain brought together in SLY his experience in food product development, his gourmet standards, and his outdoor lifestyle.

Our Approach

At SLY, plant-based cuisine is not a trend, it's our starting point. We develop each recipe to be nutritionally complete, enjoyable to prepare in the field, and delicious enough to want to make again.

100% plant-based, no exceptions

All our meals are entirely plant-based. Not to tick a box, but because we can create complete, satisfying, and flavourful dishes without animal products.

Cooked first, then freeze-dried

We don't start with dry ingredients. Each recipe is fully cooked before being freeze-dried. The taste, textures, and integrity of the dish are preserved. What you find in the pouch is a real meal.

Nutrition designed for performance

Meals designed to refuel after a long active day, with approximately 800 kcal per serving, complete plant-based proteins, and complex carbohydrates. This is energy that lasts, not a spike followed by a crash.

SLY was born in the Laurentians, and it is still here that our meals are made. Staying close to our production means keeping control over quality, ingredients, and how things are done.
