HIGH SOURCE OF ADVENTURE

Our tale began when our founder Sylvain Karpinski (‘Sly’ to his friends) set out to plan a solo sailing adventure. After scouring shelves for the right foods and coming up empty, he developed his own freeze-dried meals to fuel his demanding offshore journey. Once he returned to solid ground, he decided to share his recipes with the world, giving others the chance to feed their adventure with meals that are good for them and for the planet. 

 

Founder of GUSTA Foods and a vegan for nearly 20 years, Sylvain has a rich background in both plant-based food development and extreme journeying. He draws inspiration from his own expeditions, such as a bike trip across the Americas that his quads remember to this very day.

LYO-WHAT?

Lyophilization, or freeze-drying or cryodesiccation, involves removing the water from food via sublimation. The product retains over 95% of its nutritional value. Simply rehydrate to return it to its original form… and reap the energy-giving benefits.
